Manchester United will have to break Newcastle’s transfer record, if they want to buy Sean Longstaff this summer, the Chronicle Live reports.
The Magpies are holding out for a fee which would exceed the club-record £35million, they received from Liverpool for Andy Carroll in 2013.
Although youth product Longstaff is highly-rated at Newcastle, the club is willing to part ways with the 21-year-old if the price is right.
The midfielder is currently being valued at just £6.3million according to Transfermarkt, a website dedicated to football number crunching.
But Newcastle will demand five times that amount for the player, who is still recovering from an injury he suffered in March this year.
